In some cases, further diagnostic exams can help support your recovery. This depends on the testing available where you’re living, the differential diagnosis, and severity of your symptoms. I work closely with Family Doctors (GPs), specialists, Integrative Doctors, and other functional medicine practitioners to facilitate this where possible, however in some instances I may refer you directly for certain special tests. All tests are available for my clients in Australia, where I’m registered, and have the closest working relationship with the laboratories. I also have relationships in UK and Europe. While I’ve worked clinically as a functional medicine practitioner, and in gut microbiome science for over 5+ years, I am not an MD, and defer to your Family Doctor (GP) for overall management of your health.
Specifically, I work with:
- Gut microbiome, parasite, gut inflammation, and leaky gut testing
- Adrenal fatigue (cortisol and DHEAs)
- SIBO
- Female hormone profiles (DHEAs, E1, E2, E3, progesterone, testosterone, androstenedione, ratios)
- Male hormone profiles (DHEAs, E1, E2, testosterone, androstenedione, ratios)
- Sleep (cortisol and melatonin)
- Thyroid function
- Vitamin D
- Iron
- Environmental pollutants and toxins
- DNA biological age testing
Please note that testing availability depends on where you’re based. All tests are available for clients in Australia, where I’m registered, and have the closest working relationship with the labs. I also have relationships in UK and Europe.
While I believe in the importance of testing and precision medicine, I do also find that sometimes it can lead to spending months and thousands of dollars on testing. While it’s definitely important to find out what specifically is going on with your health, there are also steps you can be taking to improve your health now. Improving sleep, nutrition, exercise, and other healthy habits will have immediate positive effects on your symptoms. You shouldn’t wait to start addressing these lifestyle modifications. It can be important to do it with guidance and support from someone who understands your medical context.
